Back to mixed-use

Southwood

Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Masterplanning and conceptual architectural and landscape design were provided for a 4,500 acre mixed use residential community on the former Southwood Plantation in Tallahassee Florida. Land uses include residential development oriented around golf and a 123-acre Central Park, office development, educational facilities and a mixed use town center with a vibrant Main Street. Southwood's pastoral setting is its greatest resource, and its extensive open space linkages provide safe, convenient and enjoyable pedestrian access and recreational opportunities. The success of Southwood's planning is in the preservation and integration of the site's natural systems and existing landscape character with the development goals of the project.
